PAS 2035 RETROFIT ASSESSMENT SERVICES
WHAT IS A RETROFIT ASSESSMENT?
An official PAS 2035 Retrofit Assessment is essentially the first stage in the whole process of having Retrofit installation work done on your property. It is a detailed assessment and the assessor will look at everything in order to understand the measures which would be required to improve the energy efficiency and comfort of your property. It can only be carried out by a fully qualified PAS 2035 Retrofit Assessor. The assessment scope will be dependent on which category the property type and requirements fall under.
Retrofit is a whole house approach with the aim of improving the comfort and health of occupants whilst reducing fuel bills and carbon footprint. All areas are assessed together and not in isolation from each other to provide a tailored and practical schedule of improvements tailored to each individual property.
HOW IS A RETROFIT ASSESSMENT PRODUCED?
ENERGY REPORT
Initially the assessor will assess all aspects of the property such as energy installations, the fabric of the building, occupancy etc and software is used to create an ENERGY REPORT for your home.
It is not an EPC but if you wish for an EPC to be produced at the same time as the Retrofit survey we can certainly do this for you.
CONDITION SURVEY
The next step is to conduct a CONDITION SURVEY. It is important to understand that this is not a full structural survey but an assessment that looks at any issues such as damp, or defects on the building that are or could adversely affect the energy performance of the building and any future efficiency recommendations and installations.
Any rectifications required would need to be completed before improvements could be started.
OCCUPANCY ASSESSMENT
The third stage is to conduct an OCCUPANCY ASSESSMENT. Your assessor will look at occupancy and energy usage such as heating and hot water over the previous year.
On completion of the survey, a detailed report is compiled with all information required to make a decision on future energy efficiency improvements.
The scheme is underpinned by technical competence, good customer service and good trading practices. Our assessors are ABBE qualified and licensed with Trustmark, the Government endorsed quality scheme for Retrofit Assessments and work carried out within the home.
